Additive World

Additive Manufacturing technologies are developing rapidly all over the world. Its a challenge to keep up to date with international trends, dynamic technologies and business cases. By creating an international platform where knowledge is shared, industry insights are given and international trends explained we can accelerate the learning curve and stimulate each other to bring this innovative technology to a mature level.

On March 14-15, 2018 the 6th edition of the Additive World Conference will take place at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. This already 6th edition of the Conference will be organised to learn the latest on industrial additive manufacturing from a broad perspective. Experienced users from all stages of the Additive Manufacturing process (design, simulation, production, quality control and post-processing) will come together, providing delegates a complete picture of this emerging technology. More information on the 6th edition of of the Additive World Conference can be found here.

The designer has the key to success of 3D printing

Industrial 3D metal printing or additive manufacturing is gaining ground every day. In aerospace fuel nozzles are printed by GE Aviation, Siemens is printing parts for turbines and both dental and medical implants are made additively by several specialised manufacturers. Critical in the success of these innovative applications is the ability of the designer to design for additive manufacturing or maximize the possibilities this new production technology has to offer. Apply the features that make this technology unique: design freedom, thin walls, lattice structures, form free channels in the product, integration of parts and functions, customisation and more.

Additive Industries wants to challenge both professional designers and students

In order to raise the number of examples and inspire many other industries to develop dedicated applications for industrial 3D printing Additive Industries has launched the 4th edition of the Additive World Design for Additive Manufacturing Challenge on October 26, 2017, during the annualMasterclass: Design for Additive Manufacturing.

Competing in two categories both professional designers & engineers and students are encouraged to take an existing part of a machine or product that is made with conventional technologies today and redesign it for 3D printing. The possibility to apply forDesign Challenge 2018is fromOctober 26, 2017 until February 1 2017. To find out more about the finalists, winners and prizes of the last edition on the Design Challenge, please go to theDesign Challenge 2017page.

The question is not whether it will affect your business, but rather when, how and how much. Additive World Masterclasses are designed to connect your industry and experts in your field of use with the experts in Additive Manufacturing. The Masterclasses are focused to exchange insights and share experiences with the technology of Additive Manufacturing. Annually, during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, Additive Industries organises the Masterclass: Design for Additive Manufacturing. The new edition of this Masterclass will take place on October 26, 2017, please use the following link for the registeration.
